Designing Your Community - Aakriti Agrawal
Aakriti Agrawal (she/her) came to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from India her freshman year of college to study actuarial science and finance. Upon graduating, she taught herself to computer program and began her data career at a tech startup. She saw the lack of female representation in STEM first-hand and co-founded Girls Code Lincoln, a grassroots nonprofit that helps bridge the gender gap in technology. She is now in the process of starting her second nonprofit - The Nonprofiting Org, which provides entrepreneurial support for nonprofit founders. She balances volunteering with a full-time job as a Data Governance Manager at American Express, in Phoenix Arizona. She was awarded the 2021 Inspire Women’s Founders Award and the 2021 YPG Emerging Leader of the Year Award for her philanthropy, has been nominated to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, has given a TEDx talk, and enjoys painting and traveling.
